WINTER

We had snow in our forecast for yesterday evening.

This wasn't it but I just wanted you all to know that it does snow in Arizona.

This picture was taken some years ago of our back yard when we lived in StoneRidge, a development in Prescott Valley that is somewhat higher in elevation from where we now live.

The daughter, who lives in Prescott, about 10 miles to the southwest of our town, reported she did have snow about 7 o'clock last night.

We only got rain.

But I was just outside and it is c-o-l-d.

It's almost 11 in the morning and the temperature shows at 36F/2C.

And with our usual Prescott Valley breezes, it feels colder than that.

The extended forecast has snow showers predicted once again for Sunday.

We'll just see about that.

I'm wondering if we'll get any snow this year. The mountains sure need it. Stay warm, Bruce!

No snow here in Stoneridge in your old neck of the woods. Not even on the mountain tops. You know winter wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't any wind. At least all our yard work is done and we are ready.

Snow is a food thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.

We did get some snow. Andy tried plowing and got the truck and plow stuck in a ditch. At least he's safe. When things settle down we'll pay to get it pulled out. (I'm guessing there will be more things like this as time goes on.) Again, at least he's safe.

No snow here, either. Of course we're supposed to be getting a storm. 0-85 inches, due in on Saturday, Sunday or Monday, or maybe not at all. If we are alarmed, we are advised to soothe ourselves immediately rushing to the grocery store to buy milk, bread and toilet paper.

We are due for a touch of snow on Saturday but we shall see if that happens.

That is cold! Our nights have gone down to the upper 60s and everyone is remarking how cold it is. Nice post. Thank you Aloha

I have a hard time picturing snow in AZ, although my son was at the Grand Canyon once and took pictures of snow there. Beautiful. It would be so odd if you got snow before us northerners did!

I am content to wait for snow. Daytime temps around 40 right now. If we get snow, I might decide to stay home, and miss my daily lottery ticket run.

It looks so pretty, but I know I couldn't possibly live through weather that cold.

No doubt I have this before, but in very late May in Flagstaff, we awoke to a very iced car.
