ThrowBack Thursday

1971 - Indiana:  A smug Catalyst in his brand new MGB,

Less than a year later, the car was back with the dealer and I was on my way to Arizona.

The smug smile remains.

The same color as my 70 split bumper MGB, I did have the much-coveted wire wheels.

Wouldn't you love to own that car now? I had a 1964 Pontiac Tempest convertible. My dad bought it and let me use it as my car for my senior year in high school. Then, after that, I made payments to him to buy it so it was the first car I ever owned. I loved it and to this day, I'll occasionally have a dream where that car shows up.

You do look top 'o the world, Bruce. That was the same year we got a new Land Cruiser, drove it cross the US and back once, to Alaska twice before retiring it in '77.

If you've had reason to maintain a smug smile all these years, life is treating you well. :)

In '64 I had a '58 MGA, man I loved that car. Years later I was drooling over an MGB...Never did get one.

Everyone should have a cool car once in their life. Not sure if it is more fun when you are young or when you are old.

Sometimes you can have a love that you can't keep, but will always treasure in your heart.
