I took a couple of pictures from behind the wheel yesterday.
Yes, I know I shouldn't try to take pictures while I'm driving down the road at 65 miles an hour. But it was only a couple of snaps and I wanted you to see our rain.
You can see it better if you click on the photos to expand them.
I, too, admire those sheets of rain -- it's an aspect of Arizona weather I've always enjoyed. Another: virga (rain that doesn't reach the ground, per the definition, tho actually, a few drops usually do.)
That is what you call SHEETS of rain. Don't get to see it like that in the urban spraw too much. To many things in the way to watch. But you had a clear shot. Awesome.
*Highway 89A claims another victim, as photographer crashes while shooting.*
ReplyDeleteI'd be lying if I said I'd never done it though. :)
Nice shots, they show how localized the rain can be.
Nice pics! I love the way you can see the sheets of rain.
ReplyDeleteTombo - At least I wasn't texting!
ReplyDeleteMeggie - Thanks! That was what impressed me also.

ReplyDeleteWasn't there somewhere you could pull over?! Fabulous pictures, but we don't want you getting yourself killed! x
ReplyDeleteJulie - For my preference, we have too much of that damned virga - rain that never reaches earth!
ReplyDeleteKitty - Of, of course, but man is too impatient (and foolish) for that!

It IS awesome. Yesterday we had 3/4 of an inch while we were in the theater.
