EVENS AND ODDS

I love our Mimosa tree.

I hate our Mimosa tree.

It's feathery foliage is beautiful, Oriental, soft.

But then it sheds and my driveway and sidewalk is full of this crap that I have to sweep up.

Yin and yang.

Everything in life comes with trade offs. It is a pretty tree.

We had one in our yard when I was a kid and I remember it was a great climbing tree, but you're right, they are messy (I hope the stature of limitations has run out because I must admit I climbed without a helmet or any kind of fall protection.)

Now I know where you have been all week. Sweeping up.

I've been noticing those trees round here quite a bit, often planted in car parks, never big enough to climb. I didn't know they were mimosas, those are usually the ones with the yellow pom-pom flowers that come out early in the year.

They are so graceful. I like them too.
