Here's our new "cottage".
I say "cottage" because the front of it has that sort of "cottage-ey" look to it. But it's actually a quite large house with a two car attached garage in the rear. And there's a great view of the Black Hills to the northeast. You can't see Mount Rushmore, though.
O.K. I know. THOSE Black Hills are in South Dakota. But someone named these the Black Hills, too.
At any rate, we're headed back to cooler but milder weather in just a couple of weeks so I'd better get busy packing.
Oh and one other bit of business from yesterday's post. Texas Tech's Red Raiders thoroughly humiliated the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Holiday Bowl last night. I turned the television off when they intercepted a pass in our end zone with about 3 minutes left in the game. So much for my pre-game bravado and, apparently, the opinions of a lot of sports pundits.
So now I think I've covered everything.
Happy New Year, everyone!
While I don't envy you having to move, I'm sure the new "cottage" will be fabulous when SWMBO gets through with it.
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say about football....on any given game day, ANY team can beat ANY other team, pundits be damned. 2014 is just one day away. You'll knock 'em dead then. :)

I'm so glad it all worked out for you. The new place looks charming and I look forward to seeing pictures of that tree in the front yard in full bloom. Take care and Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to both of you for this New Home! Not a better way to celebrate 2014 than peace on mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year pal. Looks like new path is getting smoother. Good luck with your move. Not a fun thing to do, but you've got a good thing ahead of year. Nice looking
ReplyDelete"cottage."
Here's wishing you the wife and cats a smooth move.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear that everything appears to be going well for you all. So 2014 is off to a good start; hope it continues thus.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very comfortable modern craftsman style abode. I see why you think of it as a cottage. Congratulations on getting it all done. Happy New Year, and best wishes on moving day.
ReplyDeleteNice looking house, not sure where the "Black Hills" are though. The temps will be much cooler, dare I say COLD, for a couple of months yet.
ReplyDeleteThe Black Hills are the mountain range which includes Mingus and Woodchute. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Hills_(Yavapai_County)
DeleteCold weather I can handle. The heat of Phoenix summer was too much for us, though.
Thanks, everyone, for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice house and what a good find for you! I like it even better that it doesn't look like your typical "Arizona" house.
