You've all heard about it.  Maybe lived in it.  Two-thirds of the nation is freezing.  Actually colder than freezing.  Snow and ice cover the streets and the land.

But not here.

Sad as I am to report this to you shivvering citizens, here in Arizona the sun continues, day after day, to shine.

The temperature rises, day after day, to the 60's.  Our streets are free and clear of snow and ice.

As we were returning from a restaurant breakfast this morning we saw a man hiking alongside the road in a t-shirt.  "Shirtsleeve weather," SWMBO commented smugly.

Even the distant mountains, topping off at near 8,000 feet at their highest points, are free of snow.

Now before my smarmy attitude about our wonderful weather becomes too much for you, let me add that we are in the midst of a drought.  We could use rain.  Lots of it.

But you folks in the Midwest and the East and even the Southeast can keep your snow and ice.

We like it this way just fine.

  1. Bruce, good for you. We got about 2 inches of snow as we were leaving town for a milder place in Germany. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

  2. Here's hoping you get some rain...lots of rain for the parched land. Meanwhile, I shall keep up the mantra: at least I'm not in North least I'm not in North Dakota... :-)

  3. It's cold here in Portland but the sky is blue and cloud free.

  4. By the way, your post called Tweaking didn't post. I'm disappointed I didn't get to see the artwork. If others had a problem you might consider re-posting it.

  5. I think I'll take the snow over a drought. I actually like it as long as I don't have to travel. I like winter, I just wish it would end on February 15th and go straight to May.
Hope you get lots of rain and soon.

  6. Careful Bruce or all those Yankees will throw your weather back in your face come July/August. Here in Big D it was mid-70's today, but the next polar clipper or whatever they're calling it will drop us 40 degrees tomorrow. Very schizo weather we're having.

  7. Water is on our side, lol. But we are not complaining the temperature is above 50.

  8. That last picture is gorgeous! And that's all I'm going to say :)

  9. Oh GOSH CALGON TAKE ME AWAY... Sposed to get down to minus 2 or below here in CT and I just made a late night run for kerosene to keep heaters in basement going, helps keep the 1st floor above freezing :)
