SUNDAY NIGHT THANKFULNESS

Things that I am thankful for this evening.

That the Arizona Cardinals beat the New York Giants today and are 2 and 0 on the year so far.

That Billy Horschel won today's golf tournament and also the Fed-Ex Championship as Player of the Year.  Oh, and about 13+ million dollars.  His wife is due to have their first child in about two weeks. He'll need all that money.

That the Arizona State Sun Devils beat Colorado last night and are now 3 and 0 on the year so far.

That my wife, who wrote to a friend today that I have been hogging the living room t.v. watching football and golf all weekend so she's been holed up in her bedroom, hasn't said one cross word about it to me and came out to make us a fabulous dinner tonight.

What more can one man ask for?

  1. I'm thankful I took a nap this afternoon and then watched a PBS show on Robin Williams followed by the first installment of Ken Burns' "The Roosevelts"

    1. I've had enough Williams. The Roosevelts was DVR'ed.

  2. Your picture is reminiscent of a Jerry Cologna photo. Glad your happy. We are not so happy about the Giants game!

  3. Is this throwback day? Jerry Colonna, I haven't heard that name in years. And football in America is a throwback to the Coliseum in Rome as the empire declined.

  4. The only sports I watch anymore is baseball (I like the deliberate pace) and college football. The PAC12 will be an interesting dogfight this year; my ducks (class of '71) are also 3-0, but any long time fan of the ducks is just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

    1. Hmmm, "other shoe to drop". I hope that is not a hint that Nike (Beaverton, Oregon) might stop pumping millions into the U of O football program.

    2. I doubt Phil will stop his largesse, either to UO or Stanford. No, it's just that every year something happens, the QB gets injured, the whole team falls asleep and loses. It's like being a Cubs fan to some degree, success just makes me nervous as far as UO football is concerned.

    3. As I wrote to a fellow ASU fan Saturday, at least we don't have to play Oregon this year.
