I was just reading yesterday's post from Val the Victorian about her son's clothing habits. I paused for a trip to the bathroom and caught this glimpse of myself in the mirror. And I thought, so?????
Does this post tie in to your nude selfie in the dark? The skinny Buddha is the historical Buddha. The image on the shirt is Budai Luohan (Chinese) or Hotei (Japanese) who is an icon of a Chinese monk. He is fat because he has an overabundance of love and compassion. It is thought he will have a good reincarnation. Living in the arctic is good for body image because of no mirrors and lots of clothing.
You have to love a positive thinker! To answer your question about the Magic Castle, no it is not open to the public. You have to be a member or a guest of a member.
Hee hee, did SWMBO give you that? Where'd she get it?
I thought Buddha and Buddhist monks got fat because they ate everything that fell into the begging bowl, accepting everything with equanimity etc. One of them was even suppose to have eaten a leper's thumb that accidentally fell off into the bowl. Don't know if it was with green curry sauce.
I think I see the same thing...gravity is winning.

You've found enlightenment grasshopper!
ReplyDeleteGreat shirt!
Oh, dear. I see what the future holds for my boy.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of Buddha is a lucky charm, it brings luck to rub its tummy...
ReplyDeleteNothing else to add.
:-)
That is one way to look at it.
