There are a few things wrong with this picture.
First it wasn't taken in Graceland, Elvis Presley's home.
It was taken in a curio/gift shop in Jerome, Arizona.
And the lyrics quoted before the picture were written by Paul Simon.
In 1986.
And Elvis died in 1977.
Other than that . . . . .

My first girlfriend was an Air Force brat, Kathy Ann Young, her sister was Billy Jean, southern girls from Mississippi and they loved them some Elvis. After much coercion I learned to pronounce his name properly. EV-IS. BTW what was the price on that EV-IS statue? Kathy Ann is a retired physic prof and she'd probably buy it raht now.
I don't even know if it was for sale. I might be able to find the shop again though. If I do, I'll check and let you know.
"You ain't nothin but a hound dog"! "Thank ya, thank ya verry much"...
Kathy Ann was ambidextrous, she could change an EV-IS record on the turntable with either hand. All she and her sister ever played was EV-IS. I knew every lyric, when her old man was transferred to Turkey I stopped listening to the King and haven't since. Last time I talked to her she was telling me how much fun she had at an AC/DC concert. Go figure.
Suspicious Minds wanted to know that.
C'mon, you guys, I'm getting All Shook Up.
Give me a cigar store Indian over Elvis any day.
I am surprised he's still there. The last time I saw him was in Williams.
To answer your question, Not yet....I'm still resting. Besides, your doing a great job!
Well thanks but I'm sure your many fans miss you. But we all need our rest so kick back and enjoy.
Well, I'm not one to be picky.
I knew that was Simon before I scrolled down to Elvis. I'll take Paul Simon over EV-IS any day. You don't see many statues of HIM, though.
When was the photo taken?
Steve
Steve, there's a date on it of July 26, 2010 but I don't know if that was when it was taken. Sounds about right though by the size and color of my beard!
Thanks. You have lost some weight since then.
Steve
