It's even worse if you're moving far away - to another city or god forbid, another state. If the latter you've got to get new driver's licenses, license plates, find new doctors and dentists, good restaurants, etc. So, instead of counting boxes, count your blessings. God, I hate when people tell me that as if they know the fresh hell I'm going through. I'll just say, do the best you can, and eventually the pain will end and who knows you might even like where you end up. Unless it's the short end of the stick. Aaargh. Why'd I say that? 😇
As a moving veteran, it never gets easier and it's never fun. I've had moves paid by the company that were disasters including a stolen Gibson J-50 adjustable bridge guitar. The movers initial offer was $50 for a guitar worth over 500. Months later I got my $$$. Then there is the story of the broken marble table top...
Looks like you have a good start on the move. Here's hoping the new place will be as nice as the last. I can't say that I know what you're going through. I haven't moved for thirty years.
You'll feel better when it's all done.
ReplyDeleteLucky for you, you have a wife who is uber organized. It looks pretty amazing from the pics. Labeling is the key!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good way to get rid of crap, but yeah, it is up there with miserable things to do.
ReplyDeleteThe next box is for me. I hear you.
ReplyDeleteThis too shall pass, and soon you'll be happily ensconced in your new place.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck....the only way I'll move is if they pry my property title from my cold. dead fingers........Or I get a good offer....
ReplyDeleteLooks like an orderly process for you.
ReplyDeleteHang in there.
