Conundrum, enigma? Couple sentences later Tom Paine says "Tyranny is not easily conquered." It's strange that in this time of mass-media and over-saturated propaganda that we don't all identify the danger yet. I'll offer a Twainism: "Sometimes I wonder if the world is run by smart people putting us on or imbeciles who really mean it."
