I remember wonderful Memorial Day parades when I was growing up in Michigan. Marching bands, horses, every armed service represented and marching. Lots of red, white, and blue. After marching through town, we all ended up at the cemetery where there was a statue of someone from the civil war and a few speeches were made. Better even than the 4th of July.
