This year's monsoon season has been one unlike any in my memory.
In a normal year, we get an occasional thunderstorm and a few random days of showers.
But this year it's been day after day and night after night of showers and thunderstorms for most of the past few weeks it seems.
The meadow and the hills resemble Ireland.
At least that's what this green-starved Arizonan is fond of saying this year.
And the skies . . the SKIES . . are something to behold.
Just moments ago I stepped out into a very light misty rain and snapped these pictures.
There was a rainbow earlier but that's just become "old hat" to me so I didn't think to take its photo.
Whoa--good for the landscape and the dryness. The sky looks like WA!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering if this is man-made climate change or Mother Nature correcting centuries of drought, while neglecting to still pour rain on the usual places?
ReplyDeleteI read that Vegas flooded. Steve
ReplyDeleteI think the most recent one, with water pouring down onto the blackjack tables at a casino, was the second time in a week or so.
DeleteNo rainbow should become 'old hat'. Tis the luck of the Irish!
ReplyDeleteFrom the photos, it could be the pacific northwest.
ReplyDeleteThat shot of blue through the cloud!!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic skies especially in that last one.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful skies you have there. It's been bleak and gray here for so long. It's wonderful to see your photos.
ReplyDeleteI think we've somehow traded skies!
ReplyDeleteEveryone enjoys the rain, but desert dwellers appreciate it so much! Here in NM we’ve been enjoying the monsoon season……it’s a nice green drive to Santa Fe!
ReplyDeleteIncredible skies.
