Unless you read French (which I don't) you'll have to have Google Translate to tell you that title above means French Apple Cake.
And that's what came out of my oven yesterday morning.
Just in time to top off our Valentine's Day dinner, one of our favorites for half a century, Chicken Piccata with Fettucini Alfredo.
I just realized we had an Italian dinner with a French dessert.
As my father used to say, "good eatin'!"
We had cod loin baked in lemon juice and coriander with roasted carrot batons and steamed broad beans. No dessert but I did sneak a Lindt chocolate ball from the secret stash.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. That sounds wonderful.
DeleteHa! Costco pizza from the deli and added shredded chicken. Late lunch. No dinner. You would wither up and die at our house!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I had a bagel with cream cheese. Pity party food. I love the look of that apple cake.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good-looking dessert. No cooking here. I had take-out Chinese: Pork with Garlic Sauce and white rice, a Crab Rangoon. Dessert was a mini chocolate cupcake left over from Super Bowl treats last Sunday.
ReplyDelete"Gâteau aux pommes à la française"... There's no need to swear Bruce! However, another great baking success!
ReplyDeleteNothing special on the table but we did go out a few nights ago.
ReplyDeleteSounds downright fancy! And looks pretty good too.
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. My mom's recipe for apple cake is super, and now I will make it here. Looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do anything special, but our daughter and son-in-law will be here though Tuesday, so we're happy.
ReplyDeleteMy table? Leftover pizza and garlic bread, reheated. The apple cake looks very much like the ones my dad used to make, except he used a large square pan and sometimes the apples were plums. Very delicious and I'm sure yours was too.
ReplyDeleteValentines day, he knows the way to my heart, meatloaf.
ReplyDeleteStir fry! It was delicious!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest son and I shared a tuna pizza. Your food looks fabulous!
