Sunday morning visitor

When I awoke this morning I looked out my window and discovered a visitor. Cats love this perch because it gives them the sun on a cold morning and also the elevation with which to survey the surroundings.

After that first photo I tapped lightly on the window to get this full face shot.

After studying me and the camera for a short time, my visitor decided a slow retreat was the best strategy.

He doesn't appear to be in any rush to leave... what a sweet face he has!

I would say he/she is well fed and is not accostomed to hurry anywhere.

Kitty - Yes, he has a distinctive face.

Dawn - He crept very slowly down the ramp.

Tony - Yes, a very solid body. We've seen him around before.

He is beautifully marked! He also does look very well fed, & prosperous, if one can use that term for a cat!

Meggie - In many ways, I believe he is a "fat cat".

I always enjoy that particular Cat Way of leaving the scene, oh so deliberately slowly, as if to say, "I could remain as long as I want, but today is not the day. So long, Sucka!"

Mal - Pretty indeed.

GJ - That reminded me of a poem by Carl Sandburg:

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Great pictures! I really like the first two pictures where the combination of feline, color in the background, and texture (window screen?) all really come together nicely. Very cool.

Ah, thank you Warren. And you're the first to notice (or at least mention) that I was obviously shooting through a screen door. Good eye!
