Best time of year! Not too hot; not too cold! Had a glorious walk this morning by the golf club house before they were mowing. We live for this time of year and it lasts so long in Northern Arizona!
Beautiful photo. Back in the midwest, fall was always kind of melancholy. Here on the coast, the weather is spectacular, I don't need to put hatteras shutters on the screened porch, or bring in firewood, or rake leaves, or know that 5 months of steel gray inversion skies, rain, freezing rain, snow, ice and frigid temperatures met by hot forced dry air, dangerous driving are about to envelope my life. So autumn here is grape harvest season colored by the autumn shades on rows of vines as well as the California live oak, coastal oak, madrone and aspen. The green season is coming. Rain here is always welcome and winter is staged between a day or two of rain and several days of blue sky and sun and then a little more rain. Nothing we have to shovel and I don't drive in the Sierra where chains are required. Not so melancholy, just mellow!
Nice cover photo. You better get out the rake!

ReplyDeleteWow, that's a beautiful pic! (And it matches your blog's color scheme!)
ReplyDeleteGood header! I have to update mine sometime today.
ReplyDeleteOur summer went out literally like a beast. First day of fall was more pleasant than the last day of summer.
Now I have Sinatra singing in my head.
ReplyDeleteThis is the time of year I most miss Michigan and Boston. The leaves here are yellow if we’re lucky, dry brown if not.
ReplyDeleteAh, for all the maples and fruit trees, and all their glorious colors.
Tiger won.
