We are far from the California wildfires but the smoke has drifted east.
This was our sunset last night.
This morning's smoke created a strange optical illusion in the sky.
Our sincerest sympathies go to all those affected on the West Coast.
Stay safe.
Stay strong.
Interesting skies there. We are still shrouded in foggy smoky skies here. Air quality not good, but perhaps more breathable by Sunday.
ReplyDeleteVisibility here around a quarter mile, eyes burn the moment one steps outside, the 'index' this morning is around 300, the highest hazardous rating. We may get some relief Monday or so
ReplyDeleteThank you for your good wishes, I am very near the fires in California. The air quality in my town is 160 which is hazardous. Oh dear, Should Fish More says their index is 300. Pray for rain!
ReplyDeleteIt is a horror. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteAre there fires in Oregon too? Trying to contact a friend there
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Terrible there too.
DeleteIt's heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteYup, that looks very familiar. It's eerie looking.
ReplyDeleteInteresting illusion, but I am holding my breath just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteJust seen a post on the blog Making a Mark . The air condition maps of Oregon and Washington bring it home, and the photo of the Golden Gate Bridge peering through the murk....
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is weird. It looks like a sky out of "Star Wars."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but forlorn.
ReplyDeleteThat strong wind/hurricane kept the smoke west last week, but it's seeping back now.
ReplyDeleteAm a few cities east of Bobcat wildfire so smoke continuing to block our sun, bringing unwanted particles to our hazy air. Eerie AZ photos as i recall the blue skies from earlier years there around the state.
