The other day there were some strange clouds in the sky.
SWMBO said they used to be called "mare's tails" when she was a girl.
I'm wondering if they were an omen . . .
. . . of what to expect today.
I turned the furnace back on today for the first time in several weeks.
I know! Can you believe it? We're heating again! I just got rained on while walking the dog and that wind is biting. Of course, Rick has the oven on baking bread so that's probably all the heat we need.
ReplyDeleteWe've got 80 and you have 59?? Yoicks.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a sunny, but nippy day here as well.
ReplyDeleteCirrus
ReplyDeleteIt is in the 50s here as well.
ReplyDeleteMost days I wear a sweat shirt in SoCal, mornings I add a down jacket, put it back on at dusk. We run the heat most evenings to "take the chill off"
ReplyDeleteThey're cirrus clouds -- and they are ice, I believe.
ReplyDeletei call them beautiful clouds, have heard the words mares tales, but have never said them.. we had to turn on the AC after 6 weeks of glourius cold at night, warm in day, now two days of our early am temp at wake up is 74. the heat is coming when it starts the day in the 70's. beauitful sky pics
ReplyDeleteLovely cirrus clouds there. I would be happy if our high temp was 59. Lately it's been chillier than that here. Really hoping things warm up for all of us.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice break from the heat that arrived way too early.
ReplyDeleteWe had cold and some snow. It melted right away down here but stayed up on the land.
ReplyDeleteWeatherman Wally sent me a Google link to "Mare's Tails", which said they usually precede rain. Sure enough we had a few drops the next day but there was more rain and even snow to the north of us.
ReplyDeleteI'd be sitting out in the sun if it was 59˚F here. We do have the furnace on though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies.
