I like pie.
Apple, lemon, blueberry, cherry, chocolate, coconut cream.
Any of 'em.
But perhaps my favorite is the one that is prominent on many Thanksgiving dinner tables.
And I'm not talkin' about pecan pie, though I know many people prefer it.
And I'm not talkin' about sweet potato pie, though that is a great substitution for people whose tooth may not be as sweet as mine.
I'm talkin' about the king of Thanksgiving pies.
Pumpkin pie!
But not everyone likes it and I personally know of one person to whom the following pictures illustrate, for them, the *only* way to enjoy pumpkin pie.
I like pumpkin pie.
ReplyDeletePecan pie on the other hand....
Never again.
I like pumpkin pie but only my mom's. She doesn't overspice it, so it still looks orange and not brown. Costco does a very nice pumpkin pie too. I LOVE pecan pie. I'm somewhat picky about my fruit pies--no cherry, peach or lemon. Chocolate only if it's French silk. Apple with a crisp topping. Blueberry and marionberry are yummy. Strawberry rhubarb or rhubarb custard is delicious! I only like a dollop of whipped cream. Apple pie with vanilla ice cream of course.
ReplyDeleteNever have liked pumpkin pie, but I think it would taste better with all of that whipped cream?
ReplyDeleteHeh, heh. I like pumpkin pie, and I would like that pictured version also.
ReplyDeleteHa! Well they're right -- that IS the proper way to eat pumpkin pie. (Which I love, of course.)
ReplyDeleteThat last picture - ha! I'm a pecan pie girl myself. Hmmm - I just looked at the list of who's bringing what to our T-Day meal & there's no pecan pie on there! I might have to make one for my own self.
