THE DAY AFTER

 How was your Valentine's Day?

Swell, I hope.

We combined on our meal.

I made Cajun Spicy Shrimp and Fettucine Alfredo.

Judy made a delicious salad and Cinnamon Apple Tarts.

Then we watched some of "Cunk on Earth" on Netflix until the power went off for about 3 seconds and upset our internet connection.

So why, in Sunny Arizona, did the power go off, you ask?

Because, he responded, a quick winter snowstorm smashed through.

But coming in the evening, people were enjoying it - out walking through it, throwing snowballs, laughing, a neighbor's little dog yapping his head off as he raced back and forth.

But as you can see, the ground was quickly covered with an inch or two of the fluffy white blanket.

So this morning, as the temperature (Fahrenheit) hovers in the high teens, the week goes on.

But there is good news this morning.

Behold!

But beware in your shopping.

As one spoilsport reported yesterday there's actually more plastic packaging than actual chocolate in those boxes.

  1. Happy day after Valentines! Your meal sounds fabulous.

We haven't had one lick of snow this year. Very disappointing (although I also don't like having to deal with snow, so there's no pleasing me!).

  2. Happy belated birthday to Arizona! I think we are supposed to have snow tomorrow here in Illinois - 3 to 6 inches with lots of wind! Glad I am retired and don't have to go anywhere! :)

  3. That's a pretty scene with the snow there. I always love how it softens everything in a blanket of white. Hope it melts away soon.

  4. The meal sounds scrumptious. What do you think of Cunk? Sorry about the snow...we have blooming trees out west. Tom Cambria

    1. Cunk is mildly humorous. Our trees out front are loaded with big fat buds, ready to burst, even in the snow.

  5. We have no snow & it was +15˚C here today. I spotted my first spring flowers today probably about a month early. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop about 2 feet of snow on us. This is really weird weather.

  7. I don't buy Valentine's Day chocolate, even the next day at huge discounts, there's just too much fancy packaging. I wait until the after Easter sales and stock up on bunnies and eggs.

  8. In my favourite discount supermarket, bunches of Valentines flowers were half price yesterday but still too much for me as the original prices were inflated. Arizona looks like North Dakota in those pictures.
