Judy had her knee transplant surgery yesterday.
Her doctor said everything went fine.
She spent the night in the hospital and says this morning that she's had quite a bit of pain.
But she is moving about, with the aid of a walker.
Her first PT guy suggested she could stay in the hospital for another day if she wanted.
She asked him if he thought it would be a good idea.
He said he thought it would.
So she'll most likely be there for another day.
She's obeying her caretakers and following all the rules.
Grinning and bearing it.
She is aware of all of your good wishes and appreciates them.
Somewhere down the line I'll encourage her to write a post to tell you all what this has been like for her.
In the meantime, we both thank you.
Great news that it's over and now it's full (or faster) speed ahead for Judy! Hoping for an easy and not-too-painful recovery.
ReplyDeleteNo, 'It's a New Knee!'
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear it went well, let her know the worst part is (almost) over. The PT will really help. Can’t wait to see those dancing pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat's such good news, Catalyst. Tell Judy she has good wishes for an excellent recovery coming all the way from the California north coast. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteWell done Judy...as the song says, Keep movin', movin',movin'....
ReplyDeleteGood for her for doing her best for a quicker recovery. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteQuite an experience. Hopefully the recovery process is smooth.
ReplyDeleteYOUR life will be much easier with a spouse who follows doctor's recommendations.
ReplyDeleteThe extra day at the hospital will do her good as she will be up and about without having to worry if she is doing things correctly. You take care of yourself in the meantime!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she finally had her surgery! And I'm very glad she's following doctors' orders!
ReplyDeleteFeeling for her! My hubby had both replaced, a year apart. It is a hard pull at first, but worth it in the end. Adding my best wishes to all the others.
ReplyDeleteThere's times when grinning and bearing it is all that can be done. I wish her a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteIt 'sounds' like it was successful. 👍
ReplyDeleteGood news! Hope the recovery goes smoothly and quickly for Judy!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! My internet has been down for 3 days, so I didn't know the results of the surgery. My best wishes to Judy and you.
ReplyDeleteBrave Judy! Now she'll have to fight through these early days with the help of her South Dakotan carer - Doris.
