Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest.
But yesterday was a waiting day as we expected a thunderstorm.
At one point it was a bright sunny day if one looked out the window at the front of our abode while peering out a window at the rear of the house showed a darkening sky promising . . . something.
And finally it came.
A hailstorm!
But it lasted long enough that the stones piled up in spots and looked almost like snow.
At least one inhabitant of our area appeared startled by the onslaught and stayed mostly hidden in her flowery lair.
We woke up to snow and no power this morning. That was a surprise!
ReplyDeleteHail! Hail to King Bruce! King of the Friday Funnies!
ReplyDeleteJust rain over here. Don't need to mention the dreaded S word (snow).
ReplyDeleteAny hail at any time is a bummer.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like snow! We've got wind here and the mountains are expecting snow, especially the higher passes. I will stay at sea level.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer that to our six inches of rain in 24 hours. We're trapped between flooded bridges. Hick missed the auction, and I missed going to town for my scratchers.
ReplyDeleteOnly rain at my house, but I was amused when it started hailing on the Cardinals game. Who left the roof open? Oops.
ReplyDeleteI like hailstorms that don't have stones large enough to do damage. I remember one possibly 15 or more years ago that left drifts of hailstones piled up against rocks and the corners of houses and fences, that took hours to melt away. I remember taking photos but probably can't find them now.
ReplyDeleteOver the years I have had two roofs replaced from hail damage.
ReplyDeleteGlad there was no damage!
ReplyDeleteHail...it seems so exotic doesn't it? Perhaps because its so rare. Glad there was no damage.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!! I've never seen hail like that in my life!!! How long did it take it to melt off?
ReplyDeleteJust minutes.
