Your scribe, some time in the 1940's.
Gadfrey!
That necktie!
That collar!
That smirk!
Then . . . 70 or so years later.
Thank gawd!
The necktie is gone.
The collar is gone.
But, peeking through the beard, the smirk lives on.
Remember the Old Catalyst's admonition: Keep Laughing!
I look at my kindergarten pic and think that is the essence of me. No matter how many years pass. There are some things that simply never change. How amazing! You are that kid with too big ears and a funky smile. Some things never change! Your wife on the other hand was always gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteYou must have hit the publish key twice. That's why I deleted the second one, LL.
DeleteThat collar... Did the design back then call for that much collar?
ReplyDeleteIt occurs to me I've forgotten how to tie a tie.
I really don't know about the collar but it gives me joy that you've forgotten how to tie a tie.
DeleteThe smirk is great! I have one two and my younger daughter inherited it. Unfortunately, neither one of us can control our expressions at times. One of these days it's going to get me punched!
ReplyDeletePunch 'em back!
DeleteKeep smiling!!
ReplyDeleteYes, keep smiling!
ReplyDeleteAnd your ears learned to behave themselves too.
ReplyDeleteI think I grew into them.
