SNOW JOB

This time the Weather Gods got it right.

Our first snowfall of this winter arrived early this morning.

It's not much, probably less than an inch so far.

But at least it made the ground white.

And it may be slippery for morning drivers.

Up the hill a ways, toward Prescott, there's a bit more of an accumulation, as you can see in this photo from an EarthCam camera.

Meanwhile, back at the International Headquarters of Oddball Observations, the Monja and the Blue Cat both look like they've been in one of those Three Stooges comedies that culminated in a cream pie fight.

  1. Oh my, I need to call my sister and see how things are at her house.

  2. Snow in Arizona! It seems weird to think of that. I was born and raised in Arizona and never saw snow. I've been in California now since 1977 and it's only snowed once here. Beautiful pictures, I love the blue cat photo and your little 3 Stooges story about it.

  4. We got a bit of snow here too but only about 1 1/2 inches so it will probably melt this afternoon. Such strange weather this year.

  5. That's my favorite type of snowstorm, with the vast majority of the white stuff on the grass and not much on the roads.

  6. That's pretty and doesn't look too dangerous. We MIGHT get some late next week but naturally, they keep changing the forecast. Every day it's different!

  7. We got snow too, about three inches. We had to shovel this morning. First time this winter. It's supposed to get cold enough that we are thinking that we will have to light the woodburner this coming week. Stay warm.

  8. We had our first real snow in a month overnight. It wasn't huge, but it did bring out the plows, and I am happy that it fell. But there is rain in the forecast later this week.

  9. We have a little more snow than that but not too much and roads are clear. We may get some more during the week. Right now it is pretty!

  11. A little touch of snow is good. Your friends back in North Dakota will have their snow for a long time yet.

  12. Not a pie fight, but a whipped cream fight. Or maybe meringue. So now you feel as if winter has properly arrived?
