THE FRIDAY FUNNIES

Here in my little corner of the world, it's FRIED-DAY as the temperature soars into the upper 80's.

Record high temperatures have been sizzling the beginning of May.

But if you're living in the Northeastern U.S.A. get ready for the direct opposite this weekend as that crazy Old Man Winter pays a late visit.

But y'know what?

Since a large part of the country is quarantined in their homes it won't make any difference.

So let's get on with the real business of the day: The FUNNIES!

Okay, I see you rolling around on the floor, eyes streaming tears of laughter, holding your sides, screaming "Enough, Enough!"

I hope this extra-large edition of hilarity has left you feeling a bit better about yourselves.

Enough so that you can sit up straight, maybe even get out of your pajamas, and have yourselves a great weekend.

Always remember, no matter how dark it gets, you gotta keep laughing!

GROWTH

Wait a minute, are you giving me the finger?

Naaah, Mother Nature would never do that.

It's just the Spring growing season.

One of the big trees in front of our apartment is full of these things.

I guess in time they will become pine cones.

Lots of them.

DANDY PESTS

Behold, the mighty dandelion!

They do look harmless with their puffy dying blossoms, in my neighbor's yard.

But not in this quantity, I suspect.

SWMBO has a quiet rage going on about them as the neighbors seem not to notice them.

I don't know how they could miss them as they are filling the yard.

Oh, I suppose one of these days they will take note and try to do something about them.

I'm not one for complaining as long as they stay out of our yard.

And, a late arrival from Wacky Wally:

FIRE IN THE SKY

SWMBO and I both have doctor appointments today...she with her ophthalmologist, me with my dermatologist.

So, a quick glance at some photos I took last week.

I had gone out around sunset and noticed the color in the sky to the south of our plantation, so I snapped that picture and went around to the front of the house where I have a better view of the expanse around us.

There were enough clouds in the sky to reflect the setting sun with glorious color.

Judy favors the last two shots with the narrow slit of blue in contrast with the flaming sky above.

On this particular day, Mother Nature was working her wonders.

Just when you thought there was nothing left in the world to laugh at, here comes your friend Catalyst with his ragbag of cartoons to tickle your funnybones.

Wow!

I got "ragbag" and "funnybones" in the same sentence.

Maybe I really am getting old.

Speaking of which . . .

But enough about me.

Let's get right on with trying to make you feel better, if only for a moment or two.

Let me take a second here to thank some of my "associates" who keep sending me cartoons: Wacky Wally, Carol the Comic, Ribald Ron, Seattle Lori, Crosstown Lori, of course The BRD, and a host of others who will be enraged that I didn't mention them by name.
